The Water Cycle

We reviewed parts of the water cycle today. Here is a bulletin board I made from old fabric scraps and yarn. Students became water molecules and wrote comic strips about their water cycle adventure!

Daylight Saving Time: Set Clocks Ahead 1 Hour

WASHINGTON — Spring is closer than you think, and here's a sure sign: daylight saving time arrives this weekend.

Most Americans will set their clocks 60 minutes forward before heading to bed Saturday night, and most smart phones should update automatically. Daylight saving time officially starts Sunday at 2 a.m. local time.

You may lose an hour of sleep, but daylight saving time promises an extra hour of evening light for months ahead.

It's also a good time to put new batteries in warning devices such as smoke detectors and hazard warning radios.

The time change is not observed by Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.

No School on Friday, March 6th Due to Winter Weather

Suggestions for students:

Please catch up on any work you did not finish and turn them in next week. Check inside your binder for incomplete assignments. Seven students are missing one or more of these assignments: Sammy's Snowman, Science of Snowflakes, Four Colonies packet, Colonies report card, and this week's vocabulary wake-up.

If up-to-date and bored, you can always finish your fantasy book and packet and do the review math worksheets from yesterday.

If you're REALLY bored, go into your google account and read the "Properties of Matter" and "Patterns in Nature" e-books for science. You will be ready for science next week!

Reminder: Next week is the PARCC assessment on the Chromebooks. No need to worry about it. Please eat a good breakfast and be on time for the test. Thank you!
